Grace Episcopal Church, 20 Belvoir Ave., will host Professor Randall Balmer on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13-14, speaking on religion and presidential elections. The free lectures will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and include two lectures, two question and answer sessions, lunch and a book signing reception. All events are free, with donations welcomed at the door. Reservations for lunch are required and may be made by calling the church office at 423 243-3250 or office@SayGrace.net. On Sunday, Oct. 14, Dr. Balmer will facilitate the Adult Formation class at 9:30 and preach at both services.
Dr. Balner is an Episcopal priest-Mandel Family Professor of Arts and Sciences and chair of the Department of Religion at Dartmouth College. Previously he was professor of American Religious History at Barnard College, Columbia University and a visiting professor at Yale Divinity School. He is the author of a dozen books.
