Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Celebrates 120th Anniversary

The celebration of the 120th anniversary of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church will be on Sunday, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be a pre-service mini-recital from 5:20-5:50 p.m. by organist David Friberg. The program will  include congregational singing and the Chancel choir closing with the Hallelujah chorus, Darrin and Christiine Hassevoort and David Tahere, soloists, Mel Wilhoit, trumpet and David Fribeg, organ. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

The topic for the morning worship services will be "How Have We Shown Contempt and Defiled Your Name," with Malachi 1:6-2:9 as text. The 8:10, 9:30 and 11 a.m. sanctuary services will be led by Len Teague and the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services in the Fellowship Hall will be led by Brian Salter.

Thankful Missionary Baptist Church To Have Reunion Concert Oct. 17

Elder Oscar L. Lockhart, Sr., is retiring as pastor of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church at the end of the year after 35 years of faithful service. Woman Stabbed To Death On Hooker Road; Man Injured; Suspect Being Interviewed

A young woman was stabbed to death on Hooker Road early Friday morning and a man was injured. At approximately 1:54 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at the 4000 block of Hooker Road.
