Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Celebrates 120th Anniversary

The celebration of the 120th anniversary of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church will be on Sunday, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be a pre-service mini-recital from 5:20-5:50 p.m. by organist David Friberg. The program will  include congregational singing and the Chancel choir closing with the Hallelujah chorus, Darrin and Christiine Hassevoort and David Tahere, soloists, Mel Wilhoit, trumpet and David Fribeg, organ. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

The topic for the morning worship services will be "How Have We Shown Contempt and Defiled Your Name," with Malachi 1:6-2:9 as text. The 8:10, 9:30 and 11 a.m. sanctuary services will be led by Len Teague and the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services in the Fellowship Hall will be led by Brian Salter.

Brainerd Presbyterian To Host Promised Land Quartet Sept. 30

PromisedLand Quartet will be singing at Brainerd Presbyterian Church on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.  They are coming directly from the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN.  K.C. DA Pinkston Files Petition To Declare 2 Gangs A Public Nuisance

District Attorney General Neal Pinkston filed a petition on Monday asking that two Chattanooga gangs, the Gangster Disciples and the Grape Street Crips, and their members be declared public nuisances. General Pinkston is also "asking that injunctive relief be given to the law-abiding residents of East Lake by establishing a Safety Zone that covers most of their neighborhood." ... (click for more)

2 Boaters Die In Suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning On Chickamauga Lake

Two boaters and their pet were pronounced dead at the scene of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning on Chickamauga Lake.  Kristy D. James and Mike L.
