Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Celebrates 120th Anniversary

The celebration of the 120th anniversary of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church will be on Sunday, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be a pre-service mini-recital from 5:20-5:50 p.m. by organist David Friberg. The program will  include congregational singing and the Chancel choir closing with the Hallelujah chorus, Darrin and Christiine Hassevoort and David Tahere, soloists, Mel Wilhoit, trumpet and David Fribeg, organ. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

The topic for the morning worship services will be "How Have We Shown Contempt and Defiled Your Name," with Malachi 1:6-2:9 as text. The 8:10, 9:30 and 11 a.m. sanctuary services will be led by Len Teague and the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services in the Fellowship Hall will be led by Brian Salter.



Union Hill Missionary Baptist Hosts Women's Day Weekend

Union Hill Missionary Baptist will host a Women's Day Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. A Prayer Social will be at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, with Veronica Ryan speaking. Joyce Taylor will be the speaker on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. The church is at 1800 North Chamberlain Ave. (click for more)

Federal Judge Sandy Mattice has dismissed the lawsuit filed in the officer-involved shooting death of Javario Eagle on Dec. 12, 2015.
