Waymon B. “Shorty” Souther, 79, of Dalton, GA, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at his residence. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Hattie Souther; brothers, Odel Souther, Jack Souther and Haymon Souther; and sisters, Aileen Souther Johnson and Pat Souther Williams. 

He was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church. 

Mr. Souther is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Souther of the residence; sons & daughters-in-law, Michael & Rene Souther, Mark Souther and Mitch & Kristy Souther, all of Dalton; grandchildren, Amber Souther, Michael Souther, Jr., Monica Souther, Elly Souther and Riley Souther; nieces and nephews.

The funeral service to honor the life of “Shorty” Souther will be held on Wednesday, October 10, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Evans officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Kelly Williams, Tony Souther, Joe Shuford, Randy Boyd, Carlton Guthrie and Mike Hackney. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 9 from 4-9 p.m. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Rock Bridge Community Church; 100 W. Gordon St. Dalton, GA 30720. 

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton, is in charge of funeral arrangements. 


Williamson, Betty Faye (Copperhill)

Betty Faye Williamson, 54, of Copperhill, died on May 16, 2013.  She was born in Salisbury, N..,C and raised in Chattanooga. She worked at Animal Clinic East for 12 years and was a big animal lover.
