11th Annual Fantasy Maze Is Oct. 26 and 27

Hamilton County Parks and Recreation will host the 11th annual Fantasy Maze at the Tennessee Riverpark, 4301 Amnicola Highway, on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 27, from 6-9 pm.

The Fantasy Maze features cartoon heroes and classic characters hidden deep within a large straw bale maze. There will be no threatening characters or scary atmosphere at this event. Characters will give candy and trinkets and provide photo opportunities. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring treat bags.  

Admission is $3 per child (adults and children under two are free). Additional fees for inflatable games are $1 each. Concessions will be available.

Area 4 Special Olympics Basketball Tournament Will Be Feb. 23

Area Special Olympics athletes will be competing in a basketball tournament on Friday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the UTC Roundhouse. The Clean Tennessee Campaign hosted a rally on Friday on the Walnut Street Bridge. The “Let’s Not Make Chattanooga Dirty” again rally called on the community and senators for clean air for the city. 1 Person Killed In Accident Involving 18-Wheeler On Ochs Highway

A person was killed Saturday morning on Ochs Highway. An 18-wheeler was coming down the mountain, and hit three cars traveling up the mountain. Ochs Highway was closed in both directions, and HAZMAT crews were at the scene. More information will follow. (click for more)
