I want to encourage voters in East Ridge to consider Mimi Lowrey as their choice in next week's City Council race. You will have a citizen representative that is proud of her community. She will work diligently to keep East Ridge growing and going in a positive direction.

Mimi is self-assured and unafraid to share opinions and ideas with her neighbors, friends and elected officials. Her business experience and her understanding of the political process has prepared her for the job she seeks. She is truly a public servant at heart.  

Let's vote her in - you'll be glad you did.

Well, it's that time again, elections. This is notably marked by the sea of political signs that line the roads. I don't actually know how much influence signs have on people's voting decisions, but obviously, the candidates think it has a big influence.

Living in East Ridge, I have two council seats to vote to fill. I know one of my votes will be going for Mimi Lowrey.  Mimi has lived in East Ridge for 33 years. Over those years, she has been active in community clubs and organizations, and she has never been afraid to question actions of our local government.  

We need someone on council that will speak for us as citizens.  We need someone on council who we know will make decisions with citizens in mind. We need someone on council who will be our voice. We need someone like Mimi Lowrey on city council.  I truly believe Mimi will look at things as how they will affect us, and make decisions to better our city with the citizens coming first. 

If you're ready to be heard in East Ridge, I urge you to cast your vote for Mimi Lowrey for City Council. She won't let us down.

I will cast my vote for Mimi Lowrey for East Ridge City Council on Nov. 6. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Lowrey 25 years during which time I have worked with her on several projects for East Ridge and all were very successful. Not only did she volunteer her time, she also helped coordinate many of them.

Just to name a few: low-cost spay/neuter program, Needy Child Fund (being president for five years and serving about 160 children per year, leading all fundraisers to raise an average of $35,000 per year and working with local businesses for donations). Mimi was very instrumental in creating the Pioneer Frontier Playground, clean-up days, planting flowers and trees on City property including Camp Jordan and police department (she got trees donated saving the city thousands of dollars).

She has worked not only for the children, she has created opportunities for our senior citizens. She has served on many boards including holding office on most of them, (Kiwanis, Ruritan, East Ridge Revitalization, East Ridge Merchants Association just to name a few). This is just a few things to consider and to remember these were all volunteer.

She is a true Pioneer. Mimi has hands-on knowledge of business from owning and managing several successful businesses through the years. For those who do not know Mimi personally or were not aware of all her involvement of all the projects listed it is because she gives freely of her time and efforts for the good of East Ridge and not for all the praise and notoriety of her name being connected with these accomplishments. This is only the top few reasons I am encouraging you to vote Mimi Lowrey on election day.
