Lady Vols Remain In AP Top 25 Despite Chattanooga Loss

Monday, November 12, 2012
Despite dropping its opener vs. Chattanooga on Friday night, Tennessee remains in the AP Top 25 this week at No. 24 after a bounce-back victory on Sunday afternoon at Georgia Tech.

The Lady Vols, who were slotted at 20th in the preseason poll, knocked off the (then) No. 22 Yellow Jackets, 71-54, to extend their stay in the rankings. UT has been included in every AP rankings list since the 14th poll of the 1984-85 season. UT is, however, outside the top 20 for the first time since the 13th poll of that same campaign.

Georgia Tech fell out of the poll into fourth position in the "others are receiving votes" category. Miami, UT's opponent on Nov. 18, stands at No. 23 this week, up one spot from the preseason poll.
