Free Meter Parking Announced For Holidays

The Chattanooga Parking Authority has announced downtown parking meters will not be enforced (and need not be paid) on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following.

Additionally, paid parking will be suspended on meter parking for the following holidays:

New Year’s Day

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Good Friday

Memorial Day

Independence Day

Labor Day

Christmas Day

Parking in an unlawful area (bus or loading zone, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District, etc.) are enforceable 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Vehicle Testing To Resume Sept. 8 Following Labor Day Weekend

All vehicle emissions testing centers in Hamilton County will close on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day. DA Pinkston Asks City Police To Investigate Fatal Shooting By County Deputies Of Man They Chased Into The City Limits

District Attorney General Neal Pinkston has asked Chattanooga Police to investigate a fatal shooting involving Hamilton County deputies who chased a suspect from Old Lee Highway to Pine Marr Drive inside the city limits.
