The Chattanooga Theatre Centre is searching for a "talented, well-trained, lovable dog" to star as Sandy in the upcoming holiday production of the musical Annie.
"We are looking for a dog with star quality," said Annie Director Maria Chattin-Carter. She added that the dog cast in the role of Sandy can be large or small, male or female, purebred or mutt, "as long as they’re good with kids, take direction well, and are not disturbed by loud music and applause."
The dog selected will immediately join nightly rehearsals (the human cast has been in rehearsal for more than a month) and then perform live on stage Dec. 7-23, including several daytime school shows.
The new "Sandy" will pose for a professional headshot and may also be asked to participate in television interviews and make promotional appearances.
Auditions are Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 12 and 13, from 5:30–7 p.m. in the lobby of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre at 400 River St. For more information, call 267-8534.
