Hamilton Place Announces Winners From Santa Arrival Parade

Hamilton Place announced the participation winners from the 14th Annual Santa Arrival Parade:

Best of Parade – Top Award - East Lake Academy/Band of Wildcats directed by Joshua Allen 

Best High School Band - The Central Sound of Chattanooga (Central High School Marching Band), directed by Angelo Kortyka 

Community Spirit Award (awarded to business) - Ruby Falls

Most Holiday Spirit - Chattanooga Coca-Cola Company with Polar Bear and train 

Best Performance by a dance/chorus group - TADA Dance Academy

Outstanding Commercial Entry - Maricela Rodriguez, DDS - Float with theme "All I want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth" 

Honorable mentions: Morning Pointe of Hixson, Chattanooga Humane Educational Society & Ooltewah Middle School Cheerleaders

Each winning group was awarded a $50 Mall Gift Card for Hamilton Place Mall. 


Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon Closures Announced

The Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon takes place  this Sunday . As part of a new course, cyclists will be using the center turn lane and left lanes each direction of Amnicola Highway .   Vehicles will have one lane in each direction for travel, and  Chattanooga Police Department will be at all major intersections to assist with directing traffic.   ... Smith Denies He Told Young To Shoot Holsey In North Chattanooga Drug Deal That Cost A Life; Asks Jury To Spare Him Life Sentence

Briston "B.J." Smith told a Criminal Court jury on Friday afternoon that he never ordered Adram "A.B." Young to shot Charles "Chas" Holsey in a North Chattanooga drug deal that cost a life. Smith, who was 18 at the time and is now 20, asked the jury not to put him behind bars for life. The state is seeking a life sentence (51 years) on a first-degree felony murder charge. ... The Hamilton County Commission just grouped a bunch of departments together in an attempt to reign in the CVB. I haven't spoken to any commissioners, but I truly believe it was unknowingly. By mandating that all non profits that receive 25 percent of their revenue follow county procurement policies, they might as well have padlocked all local volunteer fire departments. We expect ...
