Hamilton Place Announces Winners From Santa Arrival Parade

Hamilton Place announced the participation winners from the 14th Annual Santa Arrival Parade:

Best of Parade – Top Award - East Lake Academy/Band of Wildcats directed by Joshua Allen 

Best High School Band - The Central Sound of Chattanooga (Central High School Marching Band), directed by Angelo Kortyka 

Community Spirit Award (awarded to business) - Ruby Falls

Most Holiday Spirit - Chattanooga Coca-Cola Company with Polar Bear and train 

Best Performance by a dance/chorus group - TADA Dance Academy

Outstanding Commercial Entry - Maricela Rodriguez, DDS - Float with theme "All I want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth" 

Honorable mentions: Morning Pointe of Hixson, Chattanooga Humane Educational Society & Ooltewah Middle School Cheerleaders

Each winning group was awarded a $50 Mall Gift Card for Hamilton Place Mall.

Officer Who Was Shot Returned Fire; Is Recovering Well; Shooter Still On Loose

Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher said Monday morning that the officer who was shot three times on Thursday is recovering well.   Chief Fletcher said the officer was wearing a bullet-proof vest and one bullet hit the vest, which protected him during the shooting.  The officer was able to return fire, although Chief Fletcher would not comment on how many bullets ...
