  • Monday, November 5, 2012

A 53-year-old Chattanooga man was killed at a Catoosa County Drag Strip in what was described as "a freak accident."

Johnny Walker died over the weekend after the incident Saturday night at the Brainerd Optimist Dragstrip where he had worked for 30 years.

Authorities said a 22-year-old woman in one of the race cars went backward instead of forward for some reason, running over the victim.

It will be up to the district attorney's office whether charges will be filed against Hillary Mason.
