Fleischmann Wins Re-Election To House District 3

Wednesday, November 07, 2012

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann was leading Democratic challenger Dr. Mary Headrick in early returns by a comfortable margin, though it was closer than expected in Hamilton County.

It was Fleischmann 35,800 and Headrick 31,055 after early voting in Hamilton County.

Later returns put the Chattanooga attorney up 157,725 to 91,031. Independent Matthew Deniston had 7,897.

Rep. Fleischmann had fought off several top competitors, including Weston Wamp and Scottie Mayfield, in a hard-fought primary.

He had outpolled Robin Smith to win the office after Zach Wamp finally stepped down to run for governor.

Dr. Headrick defeated Bill Taylor, another political newcomer, in the primary.

Noise Fallout Coming Soon On Chattanooga's Flawed Sound Control Ordinance - And Response (3)

I have been practicing acoustical, audio and sound engineering for more than twenty years. Since I understand many aspects of sound, I sent the enclosed letter to the Chattanooga City Council members regarding some of my concerns on the impending noise ordinance changes. My comments were unacknowledged.     August 19, 2014 Dear Chattanooga ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Al Sharpton’s Wise Remarks

I’ll admit I paid little more than scant attention to the Monday funeral of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old who was shot and killed by police bullets in Ferguson, Mo., after he allegedly was involved in strong-armed robbery. There are too many tawdry details and, in my way of thinking, there is nothing under God’s sun, absolutely nothing, that gives others the right to riot, burn ... (click for more)

Chattanooga Christian Sweeps Notre Dame In 7-AA Volleyball

It didn't matter that the Chattanooga Christian volleyball team was on the road Tuesday night.  Who cared that they were playing one of their biggest rivals in District 7-AA in a loud and spirited Jack Steiner Sr. Gymnasium at Notre Dame High School. None of those factors came into play as the Lady Chargers were ready to play and the Lady Irish were not. The results ... (click for more)
