Pastor Rebelo Speaks On "Bad Religion" At First Christian Church

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Pastor Paul Rebelo will present a message titled “Bad Religion” on Sunday, at 10:45 a.m. at First Christian Church. Immediately following services, the church youth will hold a “Spud Lunch” featuring potatoes, chili, salad and dessert. This project is to raise funds for Heifer International so generous contributions will be appreciated.

Following the Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner on Nov. 14, church members will put together Shoe Boxes for Operation Christmas Child, to benefit hurting children around the globe who may not have ever received a gift before. 150 boxes is this year’s goal.

The “Donation Center” located in the main lobby is the collection point for the many outreach activities that First Christian Church supports. Right now the needs include work gloves, batteries, flashlights, face masks, baby cough medicine, band-aids, Neosporin, Ace bandages, Advil, Tylenol and more supplies for our Northeast friends who have suffered from Hurricane Sandy; and plastic utensils, cups, napkins, green beans, and yams for the Community Kitchen Thanksgiving meal.

First Christian Church is at 650 McCallie Ave. Its unique motto is a “Church of Service, Not Lip Service.” Visit Firstchristian-chat.com, like us on Facebook, or call the church office at 267-4506 for more information.

But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
