Vicky Lynn Gassenberger, 50, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at her home in Hixson. She died peacefully in her sleep.

A native of Covington, La., Vicky had lived in Chattanooga for the past seven years.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn P. Gassenberger; daughter, Crystal and her husband, Mike Jones and grandchildren, Ashton Jones and Michael Jones; her parents, Bobby Rogers and Patricia Frederick; siblings, Tammy Sanders, Marie Parker and Tommy Rogers and a host of other family and friends who loved her.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the North Chapel.  Services and burial will be in Louisiana.        

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Betty JoAnn Self, age 81, of Dalton, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center. Volkswagen To Build New 5-Passenger SUV In Chattanooga

Volkswagen officials announced Monday that they will build a new five-passenger SUV at the Chattanooga plant at the Enterprise South Industrial Park. The National Weather Service is warning that a strong line of storms moving into the Chattanooga area on Monday could bring the possibility of tornadoes and large hail.
