Obama States - And Response (3)

Friday, November 9, 2012

Forbes Magazine two years ago conducted a study on the fiscal condition of the 50 states. The five states in the worst shape were California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It is no co-incidence that all five of these states went overwhelmingly for Obama Tuesday.

We traveled the New Jersey Turnpike this past summer. The Garden State had the most traffic, the worst roads and the highest tolls.  I know they have a Republican governor but the state has been overwhelmingly Democrat the past 20 years.

California here we come (fiscally).

I guess Douglas Jones is still using the faulty math and reasoning the Republicans used on Nov. 6.  The top welfare states (the ones who take more money from the federal government than they actually pay into it) are all strongly Republican led.

And if you look at California by itself, it has the 8th largest production and budget in the world.

Douglas Jones states "The five states in the worst shape were California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It is no co-incidence that all five of these states went overwhelmingly for Obama Tuesday."

May I point out that the states with some of the highest poverty rates and those that receive that highest percentage of federal aid are predominantly all "red" states , including Tennessee and Alabama.....not "Obama States."

Words

Words are important. Words give a people, nation, society, or profession a means of communicating ideas and information amongst themselves. Here in these United States of America, the greatest nation to ever grace the face of Planet Terra, we speak English. But it's American English, American, an extension of British, or the Queen's, English, and much broader in scope. It's an amalgamation ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Mr. Murray’s Great Note

In the last several days I have received hundreds of emails after I took a stand for General Nathan Beford Forrest, the South’s rich history, and the indelible fact the War Between The States is still a big part of who were are and what we have become. For the record, as of late yesterday afternoon, I have not heard from one dissenter, although I know there are some who I believe ... (click for more)

Fort Oglethorpe Swimmers Get First Win Of Season

There are a lot of positive and upbeat coaches in the Chattanooga Area Swim League, but perhaps none any more than Fort Oglethorpe veteran Tony Womac. This guy is always happy, always smiling and always offering something positive to those around him. He may have been just a bit more of all the above on Monday night after his Marlins defeated the Cumberland Currents in a home ... (click for more)

John Shearer: A Look At The Origin Of The Lady Vols’ Name

On Wednesday, the University of Tennessee is scheduled to drop the Lady Vols nickname from all women’s sports teams except the basketball squad.   The change has been a source of much debate, particularly in Knoxville. As evidence, several people wanting to keep the Lady Vols name protested last Thursday along Joe Johnson Drive, near where the UT board of trustees was meeting ... (click for more)
