Obama States - And Response (3)

Friday, November 9, 2012

Forbes Magazine two years ago conducted a study on the fiscal condition of the 50 states. The five states in the worst shape were California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It is no co-incidence that all five of these states went overwhelmingly for Obama Tuesday.

We traveled the New Jersey Turnpike this past summer. The Garden State had the most traffic, the worst roads and the highest tolls.  I know they have a Republican governor but the state has been overwhelmingly Democrat the past 20 years.

California here we come (fiscally).

I guess Douglas Jones is still using the faulty math and reasoning the Republicans used on Nov. 6.  The top welfare states (the ones who take more money from the federal government than they actually pay into it) are all strongly Republican led.

And if you look at California by itself, it has the 8th largest production and budget in the world.

Douglas Jones states "The five states in the worst shape were California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It is no co-incidence that all five of these states went overwhelmingly for Obama Tuesday."

May I point out that the states with some of the highest poverty rates and those that receive that highest percentage of federal aid are predominantly all "red" states , including Tennessee and Alabama.....not "Obama States."

Bone-Headed Logo

Why is the new state logo orange and white?  To me, that says that all Tennesseans are Volunteer fans. How about blue and gold (UTC) or black and gold (Vanderbilt)?  Don't assume all who live here are Volunteer followers. Sells our state short. Ken Maury (click for more)

Tram Up 1st Street That Proved A Dud Also Falters At Auction

Most of the 21st Century Waterfront development was a major success. Except for that non-working tram going up the steep hill at First Street. The city has finally given up on the unusual mode of transit and has placed it up for auction. But there were only four bids submitted and the high was only $92.50. The owners of the firm that built the tram, Outdoor Engineers ... (click for more)

The Chattanooga Football Club was minutes away from a 1-0 upset of visiting Atlanta Silverbacks in the third round of the US Open Cup.
