Gamma Theta Sigma Provides Food Boxes

Gamma Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc provided food to local families for Thanksgiving. The recipients were families with school aged children, foster parents, parents and grandparents who were all surprised and very grateful to receive the food boxes.  

The grandmother of one of the families said “ I was just trying to figure out what we were going to do for food for Thanksgiving when I received the call that we were going to get a food box.”

The food boxes contained turkey, stuffing, ham, green beans, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls,  sweet potato pie, chocolate pound cake, eggs, breakfast sausage, milk and iced tea. 

The Gamma Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. provides food boxes to families in need each year.  The event is a community service project which supports the Sorority’s slogan  “Greater Service, Greater Progress”.

Clerk Shot During Holdup At Lee Highway Convenience Store Early Saturday Morning

A clerk was shot during a holdup at a convenience store on Lee Highway early Saturday morning. Paul Evans, 24, has non-life threatening injuries. Woman Shot Twice By Estranged Boyfriend In Front Of Multiple People At Her Home In Dalton

A woman's estranged boyfriend entered her residence in Dalton on Friday night and shot her twice in front of a group of people, authorities said.
