Gladys J. Gibson, 81, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012, with her family at her side.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1931, in Chattanooga. Gladys had made her home in Cohutta, Ga. for a number of years. She was retired from McKee Bakery as a line operator. She and her husband, Joe, enjoyed spending winters in Florida, gardening, family and their beloved pet, Miss Pug.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe M. Gibson, Sr., sons, Joe (Barbara) Gibson, Jr. of Cohutta, Ga, Richard (Marilyn) Gibson, of Cleveland, Tn. Gary (Pam) Gibson, of Cohutta, Ga, Lynn (Debbie) Gibson, of Chattanooga, “adopted” son, Perry (Allison) Wilson, of Cohutta, Ga., 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sister, Kay Richmond, and brother, Ralph Bankston and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with her sons, Joe, Rick, Gary, Lynn, Perry and grandson, Wesley Gibson serving as pallbearers.
