Evelyn Marie Nichols Hughes, 86, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area, she was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a former employee of Great American Fund Raising where she worked for six years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Hughes; parents, Arthur and Bessie Maney Nichols and three sisters, Mildred McGill, Mavis Hooper and Clarice Hawthorne.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Hughes of Ringgold, and Jackie Hughes of Ringgold; two sisters, Cecilie Cartwright of Birchwood, Tn., and Joyce Kinsey of Talkingrock, Ga.; two brothers, Marvin Nichols of Scottsville, Ky.,. and Ross Nichols of Woodstation, Ga., four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Woodstation Cemetery with Reverend Paul Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
