2-Year-Old Boy Who Suffered Gunshot Wound At Harrison Home Dies

A two-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound at a Harrison home on Thursday night died from the incident, authorities said Friday afternoon.

The victim in the shooting at 6568 River Stream Road was Brennan Nowell.

Information was received by detectives at approximately 11:30 p.m. Thursday that the child did succumb from the injuries he sustained in the shooting.

Authorities said, "The investigation is ongoing and is actively being investigated by detectives. We have received numerous questions from the media pertaining to exactly what occurred in this case. Due to the sensitive nature of facts surrounding this investigation, nothing further will be released to the public until such time as the investigative case has been completed."

Neighbors said the boy got possession of his grandfather's gun and shot himself.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the residence at approximately 6:29 p.m.

The young victim was transported to Children’s Hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services. He was taken into surgery, authorities said. 

The investigation is ongoing by HCSO Criminal Investigation Division.
