Martha Wyatt McMahan, 96, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, December 21, 2012.
Mrs. McMahan was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wyatt and was born and reared in Chickamauga.
She was a graduate of Gordon Lee High School where she was very active in school clubs and sports. She graduated from the University of Chattanooga in 1938, was a member of Chi Omega and was an elementary school teacher in Georgia and Tennessee. She was a longtime member of the Chickamauga Presbyterian Church before moving to Chattanooga and going to the First Presbyterian Church. At one time, she was a volunteer for Changed Lives.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William McMahan, Jr.; son, Eugene Wyatt McMahan; sister, Dorothy Hardeman (Ralph) of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Henderson Wyatt (Sara) of Dalton, and Knox Wyatt (Carol) of Amelia Island, Fla.
Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Allison III and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Knox and Allison; great-grandson, Nicholas Wyatt LaPorta.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 24, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
