New Year's Eve 2013 Celebrations In Tennessee

Big names in music, fireworks and circus performers are just some of the spectacles that are planned for New Year’s Eve celebrations happening around Tennessee. As we bid a fond farewell to 2012 and welcome 2013 with pomp, there are a few parties you won’t want to miss Dec. 31.

Gatlinburg – New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show – Enjoy music, entertainment and watch the New Year’s Eve ball drop from the Space Needle as it glows a festive red at midnight Jan. 1, 2013. Music-choreographed fireworks will follow. For more information, visit www.gatlinburg.com.

Chattanooga – New Year’s For Adults and Families – A variety of family-friendly and adult parties are scheduled throughout Chattanooga, including Southern Belle Riverboat’s New Year’s on the River Cruise and New Year’s at Noon at the Creative Discovery Museum. Knoxville – First Night Knoxville – Enjoy an exciting and artistic display of dancers, artists, circus performers and comedic groups before the New Year’s Eve ball drop and fireworks display. Nashville – Music City New Year’s Eve Bash on Broadway – The Frey, Sixpence None the Richer, Love and Theft and Striking Matches will perform beginning at 7 p.m. with a 15-foot-tall music note drop at midnight Jan. 1, 2013. Settlement May Be Close In Government's $1.8 Billion Case Against Cleveland, Tn.-Based Life Care Centers Of America

A settlement may be close in the federal government's massive False Claims Act case against Cleveland, Tn.-based Life Care Centers of America. Attorneys have asked Chattanooga Federal Judge Sandy Mattice to put a 30-day hold on depositions, saying a settlement is in the works. Judge Mattice granted the motion.
