A staff member at the Southside Recreation Center has been arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old female behind the center.

Toriaunto Collins, 33, of 1717 Cambridge, is charged with aggravated statutory rape.

Police said on Nov. 7 a referral was made by Child Protective Services of a possible aggravated statutory rape by an authority figure. The girl reported that she had sex with Collins during a summer program at the rec center during June and July.

She said they had oral sex and sexual intercourse. She said Collins was a staff member at the time and she was attracted to him and did not want to get him into trouble.

Investigators later located Collins and interviewed him.

He at first denied sexual contact with the girl. Police said he later admitted having oral sex with her behind the rec center during July.

Roy Exum: Hypocrisy And Horses

I am still wincing over the fact a horrendous bill passed in the state legislature that would make whistle-blowers into criminals would have actually gone into law had it not been for Governor Bill Haslam’s eleventh-hour veto. Called the “Ag-Gag bill,” similar efforts in other states have also soured because it is no more than a Catch-22 trick to protect those who abuse animals, ... (click for more)
