Jerry Lee Taylor, Sr., 71, of Ringgold, died on Monday, December 31, 2012 at his residence.  

He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and was a self employed contractor throughout the years.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie Taylor, brothers, Lewis Taylor, Raymond Taylor, and Stanley Taylor.

Survivors are his sons, J.J. (Lynn) Taylor of Ringgold, and Jason (Jennifer) Taylor of Burlington, N.J.; brothers, Bo Taylor of Harrison, Walt Taylor of Rock Spring, Bobby Taylor of Ringgold, Jimmy Taylor of Ringgold; sisters, Betty Roberson of Rock Spring, Clara Dunn of Dalton, Martha Smith of Rock Spring, Edna Orr of Meigs County, Ella Gordy of Magnolia, Tx., and Mary Tennant of Rock Spring; grandchildren, Jordan Taylor, Logan Nave, Nikol Taylor, Georgia Taylor and Jackson Taylor.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, in the funeral home chapel. 

Interment will be in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case.
