Spring Turkey Quota Hunts Application Deadline Is Feb. 8

The Feb. 8 deadline is approaching to submit applications to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for the 2012 Spring Turkey Quota Hunts. The application period began Dec. 14, 2011.

Applications will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. (CST) on Feb. 8. Mailed applications will not be accepted.        

Applications are available and will be accepted at any TWRA license agent, TWRA regional office, or online at the TWRA website at www.tnwildlife.org.       

The areas available for the hunts are listed on the instruction sheets. Hunters may have up to 12 choices, but will be drawn for only one. Applicants may not use the same hunt code more than once. There are a total of 19 hunts listed. No person may apply more than once.       

A permit fee will not be charged to Annual Sportsman (Type 004), Lifetime Sportsman (Types 401-406) license holders or Senior Citizen Hunters (Type 166) with an Annual Senior Citizen Permit (Type 167). TWRA will pay the agent fee for these transactions. For all other license holders, the cost is $10 per permit, plus the agent fee.

When applying at a license agent, hunters must remain at the location while the application is processed. Hunters will receive a receipt with a confirmation number when the application is complete. Hunters with Internet access can click on Buy a License On-Line. Once the Internet site has been accessed, hunters can follow the on-screen directions. 


2012-13 Hunting Seasons To Be Set At May's TWRC Meeting

Boating Safety Class Set For June 9

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 16-02 Chattanooga, will provide a Boating Safely Class on Saturday, June 9. The class will be held at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Chattanooga at 3551 Old Harrison Pike.  The class sign in starts at 8 a.m. and class lasts until 4:30 or 5 p.m. Seating is limited and preregistration is required. Man Who Survived By "Playing Dead" Points To Talley, Grace As Robbers Involved In Shooting Of Him And Rapper Brikk
