Signal Centers Children's Program Catches Super Bowl Fever

Wednesday, February 01, 2012

The Children’s Program at Signal Centers, 109 North Germantown Road, will host its own Super Bowl tailgate celebration on Friday from 9:30–11:30 a.m.

The 5th annual event is held each year on the Friday before the Super Bowl with the children wearing their favorite team’s jersey.  Each classroom hosts a different activity to encourage both gross and fine motor skills.

This year’s athletic endeavors include a ring toss, bean bag toss, ball drop, obstacle course and maze, under the direction of the staff, physical therapists and occupational therapists.  After the event, the children are treated to their favorite tailgate snacks.

“The Super Bowl is a national event,” said Donna McConnico, Signal Centers CEO.  “Our celebration helps children with disabilities not only enjoy exercise and activities, but also connect to the current interests of the community and that naturally promotes inclusion.”

Signal Centers, Inc. serves both children with disabilities and children who are typically-developing children, age 6 weeks to 5 years.  For more information on the Children’s Program at Signal Centers, visit www.signalcenters.org.
