Clyde B. Walker, 88, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at her residence. 

She was united in marriage to Emmit Walker on June 22, 1945. She was a graduate of Albany State College and worked at East Fifth Street Day Care Center for many years and retired as the director.  

She was a faithful member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, former president of the senior choir and was a member of Circle #4. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Vander Richardson; husband, Emmit Walker; and brother, Clem Richardson.  

Survivors include her sons, Royce (Betty) Walker of Cleveland, OH and Bruce (Tracey) Walker of Stone Mountain, Ga.; daughters, Joyce (Bobby) Hudson and Terrie Colvin both of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren, Shelton Walker, Tatia Johnson, Robin Johnson, LaTonya Johnson, Royce Walker, Jr., Eric Walker, Bobby Hudson, Keisha Shepherd, Jimmy Colvin, Jr., Mohandez Colvin, Brian Colvin, Stephanie McKamey, Bruce Walker, Jr. and Louis Walker; 36 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; brother, James (Ruby) Richardson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Charlie Mae Floyd of Atlanta, Lou Bertha Wadley of Chattanooga, Ethel Dews and Inel Graham both of Chicago; a host of other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 14, at 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Jimmie Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.



Hilliard, Barbara Ann Carr

Barbara Ann Carr Hilliard, 85, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.  A native of Abilene, Texas, she had resided in the North Georgia area for the past four years. Virgil C. Thomas, 99, of Kimball, Tennessee, died on Friday, May 11, 2012. Man Who Survived By "Playing Dead" Points To Talley, Grace As Robbers Involved In Shooting Of Him And Rapper Brikk
