A man was found dead after an apartment caught fire in Cleveland on Thursday night.
Larry Wright apparently died of smoke inhalation.
At approximately 9 p.m., the Cleveland Police Department responded to 1513 Blount Ave. in reference to a fire in apartment #1.
When officers walked up to the front door of apartment #1, they saw smoke. Officers made entry into the apartment and were overcome by smoke.
Cleveland Fire Department firefighters entered the apartment and when they began to
extinguish the fire when they found a deceased male in the bedroom.
Fire Investigators said the fire began in the bedroom on the bed.
The fire may have been caused by smoking in bed.
Smoke detectors in the unit were not working.
