Wally’s Friends Spay Neuter Clinic will host its annual Spay-Ghettie No Meat Balls Dinner and Silent Auction on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Warehouse Row, 1110 Market St., from 5:30-9 p.m.

National Spay Day is an annual campaign that shines a spotlight on spay/neuter—a proven way to save the lives of companion animals, feral cats, and street dogs who might otherwise be put down in a shelter or killed on the street.

Wally’s Friends provides high quality, high volume, low-cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats.  They serve Chattanooga, Hamilton County and sixteen surrounding counties. Operating from a stationery clinic in Red Bank, the clinic provides transportation services to outlying counties to maximize the life saving efforts of spay and neuter

Since opening in November 2006, more than 54,000 surgeries have been performed. Affordable spay and neuter is the solution to the National epidemic of pet overpopulation and brings a higher quality of life to the community. The simple surgery of spay and neuter prevents thousands of lives from being  born into an economy where there are not enough homes. The clinic is a partner of Petsmart Charities and Petco Foundation.

Veterinarians at Wally’s Friends are Dr. Adam B. Winn and Dr. April Koich. They are well-trained in pediatric surgery, and together, perform an average of 50-60 surgeries per day.

Founded by Doris Day in 1995, hundreds of events are planned for this special day to bring awareness and change to the National epidemic of pet overpopulation

The Spay-Ghettie No Meat Balls Dinner and Silent Auction is sponsored by Biba’s Restaurant.

Tickets are $25, and may be purchased at www.wallysfriends.com, Bone Apetit, The Ark, Cat Clinic of Chattanooga, or by calling 877-9966.

All my life I've been proud of Grant Law. He was a year or two ahead in grammar school, so I always looked up to him, and was proud as he excelled at McCallie and Vanderbilt. We all prayed when he was a naval officer on the gunboat in Vietnam and my family bought dozens of cars and trucks when his folks owned Newton Chevrolet. More recently he has emerged as one of the leading ... (click for more)
