Moc Runners At Valentine Invitational Hosted By MTSU

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga indoor track teams will conclude the regular season this Saturday at the Valentine Invitational hosted by Middle Tennessee at the Murphy Center.
 
The event will feature men’s and women’s teams from UALR, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Milligan, Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, host Middle Tennesse along with the men’s team from Belmont.
 
The event will begin at 4 p.m. Eastern Time with field events.
The One Mile Run is set to start at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 400 meters. The High Hurdles and 55 meter prelims and finals will follow. Next will be the 800 meter, followed by the 200 meter dash and the 3000 meter run. The meet will conclude with the men’s and women’s one mile relays at approximately 9:10 p.m. ET.
 
Sophomore Lucas Cotter (Collierville, Tenn.) is ranked second in the Southern Conference standings in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:13.18 at the University of Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial. Cotter is also sixth in the league standings in the Mile after posting a time of 4:14.33 at the season-opening Blue Raider Invitational.
 
Senior Emmanuel Kirwa (Kapsabet, Kenya) is ranked fourth in the SoCon in the men’s 3000 meter run with a time of 8:20.99. Sophomores Nathan Wanuch (Mississauga, Ontario) and Mark Cole (McKenzie, Tenn.) are also ranked in the league’s top 15 in that event.
 
In the women’s 3000 meter, sophomore Amanda Sumner (Bristol, Conn.) is ranked seventh in her first year back on the track with a time of 9:51.41 recorded at Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial. Senior Tara Gietema and junior Kathryn Stuart are in the SoCon top 20 for times in the event.
 
Freshman Dezerick Frazier (Goodletsville, Tenn.) ran a 49.95 400 meter dash at the Rod McCravy Memorial hosted by the University of Kentucky and is ranked sixth in the SoCon standings.

Division II Quarterfinal Soccer Pairings Set

The Division IIAA quarterfinal soccer pairings are set to begin this weekend. Man Who Survived By "Playing Dead" Points To Talley, Grace As Robbers Involved In Shooting Of Him And Rapper Brikk
