Losing Our Freedoms

Saturday, February 11, 2012

We have seen the greatest potential loss of freedom in the past few days with Obama deciding we must pay for abortions.   He has now decided he has the power to force all of us to pay for abortions through our insurance as if that is different than forcing our churches to pay for it.

Who gave him the power to force private companies to buy something they don't want?   He does not have that power unless we let him.

This is not simply a matter of right to life or protecting the unborn.

This President is deciding that he can call anything a health issue and he can decide on his own what needs to be done about it.   He is saying that not providing free abortions or contraceptives will make women sick.    Thus a baby is now a sickness that must be aborted if the woman decides.

With this logic anything can be determined by his people what is an illness.    He could tell us we have to all take Vitamin D pills once a day or that everyone must get to a certain weight.    There is no end to what government can tell us what to do if this is not stopped.    The government is not smart and does not tell us the truth all the time.

Just look at the issue of forced emission testing here in Chattanooga.   We need not only new leadership - we need all of us writing to our representatives to complain about this loss of freedom.   Government is the problem not the solution.
