Hopkins, Mary Ruth Puryear (Chickamauga)

Mary Ruth Puryear Hopkins, 80, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Friday, February 10, 2012 at her home. 

Mary was a lifelong Chickamauga resident, and was the owner of Mary’s Restaurant on Highway 341 in Chickamauga for 20 years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving son, Larry Wayne Puryear, and brother, Joe Lewis Puryear. 

Survivors include her grandson, Jason Wayne Puryear; and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Katie Clark, Helen Kilgore, and Bessie Filyaw; brothers, Ed Puryear and Danny Puryear; several loving nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Raymond Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell was born February 14, 1927 in Huntsville, Ala., the daughter of the late John Bryant and Lillie Ivey.
