Robert "Bob" Gill, 64, of Soddy Daisy, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Chattanooga on June 1, 1947 to Kyle and Jesse Gill.

Robert retired as a captain with the Chattanooga City Police Department with 25 years of service, was a supervisor over the school buses in Hixson, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Ann Gill, and sisters, Mary Jo Gill and Helen Haynes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Frances Gill, his first wife, Mary Pat Gill, daughter, Amy Gill Baker, stepdaughter Vicki Phillips; sisters, Joyce Wright and Bessie Newsom; grandchildren, Austin Gill and Kendall Baker; several nieces and nephews; special brother-in-law, Hugh (Joy) Wooden, and special friends, Sharon and Gilbert Jackson.

Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he was known by many, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and bluegrass music.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, in the chapel with Dr. Kerry Smith officiating. A private family burial will follow.

Visitation will on Monday, February 13, from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, February 13, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sarah Canon Cancer Center at Parkridge Hospital.

Virgil C. Thomas, 99, of Kimball, Tennessee, died on Friday, May 11, 2012.
