James Danny Key, 64, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Hamilton Medical Center.

James was born March 7, 1947 in Franklin, N.C., a son of the late James Edward Key and Gracie Belle Anderson; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Buchannan. 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Sue Payne Key of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Sue and Mark Sloan of Rocky Face and Tracey Ann Hannah and special friend Steve Evans of Dalton; grandchildren, Felicia Ann Beavers, Marshall Zachary Sloan and Brett Mitchell Hannah; brother, Joe Ivester of Blairsville, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie Rose and Jasper Bingham of Canton, Ga., Karen Ivester of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Maxine Trogdon of Blairsville, Ga.; best friend, Bobby Hicks of Tunnel Hill; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Danny Key will be held Sunday, February 12, at 2 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Payne officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
