Notre Dame Girls Rally Past CCS 32-28

In a low scoring District 7-AA play-in game, the Lady Irish of Notre Dame scored the final four points of the game to earn a 32-28 win over the host Lady Chargers of CCS Monday night.

Notre Dame outscored the Lady Chargers 10-3 in the final period to take the 32-28 win.  

Notre Dame scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter including the go ahead basket by Keonna Beman with 2:55 left.

 CCS would tie the game at 28 on a Meg Sabourin jumper with 1:19 left in the game.  Beman and Molly Gadd would add field goals in the final minute to lead the Lady Irish to the win.  

CCS senior Meg Sabourin scored 21 of the Lady Chargers 28 points in her final game at CCS. Beman led Notre Dame with 15 points.  Molly Gadd had seven for the Lady Irish. 

Notre Dame advances to the District 7-AA semifinals on Thursday.  The Lady Irish will travel to Grundy County.

Ashley Czechner Is Most Valuable Player At National Junior College Softball Tournament; Walker, Dalton, Breeden, Keylon-Randolph Honored

Zach Stephens Named Semifinalist For NCBWA’s Dick Howser Trophy

Teen Killed When Thrown From Hood Of Car At Old Kmart On Signal Mountain Road

A 17-year-old was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from the hood of a vehicle at the old Kmart on Signal Mountain Road. At 8:34 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 680 Signal Mountain Road where they found the teen suffering from head trauma. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  Traffic investigators said ...
