Hardy, Barbara Lorraine

Barbara Lorraine Hardy, 92, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, February 13, 2012 at her home, Southern Heritage Assisted Living. 

She was born December 7, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wi., the daughter of the late William and Anna (Pershaw) Dalton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Hardy and a grandson, Adam Fredrick Ray.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and had served as the librarian at the Lutheran School.

Survivors include a son, Vernon C. “Skip” Hardy and his wife Harriet, of Baltimore, Md.; daughters, Nancy Burkhalter and her husband Don, of Ellijay, Ga., and Virginia Parham and her husband Michael, of Sale Creek; grandchildren, Steven Ray and his wife Diane of Chattanooga, Justin  Ray and his wife Catherine of Charleston, S.C., Jennifer Carter and her husband Bill of Denver, Co., Kate Parham Erolino and her husband Matt of Chattanooga and Mary Alex Parham of Asheville, N.C.; nine great-grandchildren.

She will be buried by her husband, James Clayton Hardy in Statesboro, Ga., at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice of Chattanooga, 7161 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Mark “Mike” Manley Crandall, 75, of Soddy Daisy, died on May 21, 2012. Mike moved to Chattanooga in 1967. He worked for various fastener companies until he opened his own company in 1976, Bolts & Nuts, Inc. Mike retired in March of 2006. Teen Killed When Thrown From Hood Of Car At Old Kmart On Signal Mountain Road

A 17-year-old was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from the hood of a vehicle at the old Kmart on Signal Mountain Road.
