Chancellor Frank Brown has dismissed a lawsuit brought by several longtime East Ridge residents seeking to block fireworks sales in East Ridge.
In a memorandum opinion, he said the residents do not have standing at this time to challenge the constitutionality of the law that was passed last session to allow fireworks sales in the city.
He said the residents may have standing at some time period after the law goes into effect July 1 and fireworks sales begin.
The suit was brought by Dennis and Karen Massengale, Carnell Storie, Roxie Davis, Crissy Lawson, Marion-Bradley Fireworks Retailers and Wet Willy's Fireworks Supermarket of Tennessee.
