The Harrison Ruritan Club will hold its annual fundraiser chili cook-off on Saturday This Saturday, from 5:30-7 p.m. at their clubhouse in Harrison, across from Central High School at the intersection of Highway 58 and Tyner Lane.
As many as 20-25 club members will bring their prized recipes of culinary delights. There will be first, second and third place trophies awarded on each of People's Choice and Judge's Choice. Judges will be State Senator Bo Watson and Hamilton County Commissioner Warren Mackey.
Tickets are $5 at the door for food and beverage.
Some of the club's regular projects have been college scholarships for area graduating high-school seniors, awards to graduating fifth graders at area elementary schools based on good character, donations to area recreational leagues, donations to Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Dept Christmas toy drive, donations to Friends of Harrison Bay State Park, sponsorship of youth to Freedoms Foundation, assistance and donations to needy area citizens, and more.
