The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest of the person or persons responsible for the shooting deaths of a Johnson County couple earlier this week.
At approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 36-year-old Billy Payne and 23-year-old Billie Hayworth were found shot to death in their home at 128 James Davis Lane, Mountain City.
The couple’s eight-month-old baby was found in Ms. Hayworth’s arms when the bodies were discovered, but was not injured.
The couple lived there with Mr. Payne’s father who left for work at approximately 5:30 a.m.
The TBI and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office are working on solving the double homicide and the TBI is now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
