A wreck early Sunday morning in Dunlap claimed the life of 19-year-old Brooke Stockwell.
Michael Vance Elmore, also 19, was injured in the single-car crash on Highway 127.
A Mazda driven by Elmore went out of control and hit an embankment, then rolled. Both occupants of the car were ejected.
Authorities said speed was likely a factor and that both had been drinking and were not wearing seatbelts.
Ms. Stockwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was a top 10 graduate of the Sequatchie County High School Class of 2010 and was currently attending Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Dunn officiating.
Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. CST.
