Alpha Delta Pi Volunteers With Phonathon For Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga recruits up to 24 volunteers each night to assist with making phone calls and organizing pledge forms during its annual Phonathon fundraiser in February which raises funds to support families of critically ill and injured children. 

The annual Phonathon is held over a three day period.  Volunteers from area businesses, universities and individuals interested in charitable causes including, members of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority help out each year.

Alpha Delta Pi supports Ronald McDonald House Charities as its charity of choice on a national level, assisting with various fundraising efforts as well as making charitable contributions.

The goal for this year’s Phonathon is to raise $100,000 which will help families for 1,818 nights. Families stay on average of 15 days. In 2011, Ronald McDonald House Charities provided up to 9,000 nights of comfort to an average of 50 families per month.

Teen Killed When Thrown From Hood Of Car At Old Kmart On Signal Mountain Road

A 17-year-old was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from the hood of a vehicle at the old Kmart on Signal Mountain Road.
