A young man police said had warrants against him pulled out in front of the wrong car on N. Moore Road.

A Chattanooga Police officer said a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Michael Ray Brinkley whipped out into traffic from a side street. The officer said he had to slam on the brakes in order to avoid hitting the car.

He then stopped the vehicle and found that Brinkley, who lives on S. Moore Road in East Ridge, had warrants against him in East Ridge.

East Ridge Police picked Brinkley up on the charges of burglary and theft over $1,000.

Domaniche Evans of Orange Wood Avenue said he found that his car keys, wallet and cell phone had been stolen. The wallet contained $90.

He said a $350 Coach purse belonging to girlfriend Anna Martin was also taken. It had $50 in it.

He then learned that his 1997 Nissan Sentra was also missing.

About that time, an officer spotted the Sentra and stopped it because of a headlight that was out. Katrena Binn was driving it.

Mr. Evans said Ms. Binn is his former girlfriend. She was charged with burglary and theft of an auto.

A man who left his car on the lot of Pawn-O-Rama on Dodson Avenue overnight lived to regret it.

The vehicle was still there the next morning, but it was minus the speakers, subwoofers and CD player.

A woman said she came home from church and fell asleep on her couch on E. 26th Street.

She said while she was sleeping, someone kicked in the back door. Muddy footprints were found on the door. However, nothing appeared to be missing.

The door gave way despite the fact that a deadbolt had been added and a 2x4 was nailed across it due to numerous burglaries.

The door frame was extensively damaged.

Victoria Foster of the law firm of Kennedy, Koontz and Farinash on N. Holtzclaw reported that someone made off with the firm's four heating and air units.

The thief cut the compressors from the radiator coils, then took the coils and copper pipe.

Police and McKamey Animal Trust got a report of a dog being shot. The owner on Moss Lake Drive advised the officers should go to the house of the man on Big Ridge Road with a donkey in the backyard.

The man at that address acknowledged he had shot the dog, saying it was coming after him and his livestock.

The bullet grazed the top of the dog's head. His head was bloody, but he was breathing and alert. He was carried off on a stretcher.

No charges were to be filed against the man.
