Where's The Sign At The New Driver Service Center? - And Response

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

A sign still stands outside the vacant Driver Service Center at 530 Cherokee Blvd. There  is no sign outside the new center at 4873 Dayton Boulevard - just a mailbox with the street numbers by a driveway.

Some 50 yards down the driveway is an unmarked one-story brick building.  You need to find this building to get your government-issued photo ID to vote in the March 6 Presidential and Hamilton County primaries.

Good luck.

A couple of weeks ago, I had some business to attend to at the driver testing center.

I was told there was a new center in Red Bank and, since I didn't want to go to Bonny Oaks, I looked up the address and made my way down Dayton Boulevard.

I saw the numbers on the mailbox and pulled in the drive. At the end of the driveway there was a building clearly marked "Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security". I went in, took care of my business, and went on my way. I didn't use a gps or anything. I used the "old school" method of looking at mailbox numbers.

If it's a good enough system for pizza delivery folks, it's good enough for me. ( no disrespect intended to delivery folks).

I hope no one is "denied the right to vote" because this building has no sign at the street. If you do need a sign, I'd recommend you head out to Bonny Oaks and get in line there. They've got a big sign.

Debates Don't Decide Leadership Ability

I've watched how some in the media have attacked Scottie Mayfield for not debating. I've never been to a debate, and I am not going to vote for someone because they are able to remember and recite from memory, the well crafted answers they came up with the night before.   Often times, candidates focus on attacking each other instead of influencing undecided voters on any ... Throw The Book At McConnell

Re:  Roy Exum: This Jerk Needs Stewarding I agree with Roy on every count. There is not enough punishment available to this man and his cohorts to give justice for all the magnificent horses he maimed and tortured.  That video was the most sickening thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I have cried all weekend.   Plus he was totally unrepentant in the ... (click for more)
