Beulah Morgan Rayburn, 91, of Rossville, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Cleveland, Tennessee.

 

She was a native of McMinn County, but had lived the greater part of her life in the Rossville area. Mrs. Rayburn was a member of English Avenue Baptist Church and loved to quilt and sew.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Alice Morgan, husband, Rev. Arnold Rayburn, granddaughter, Donna Randolph Riddle, son-in-law, Bobby Randolph, brothers, Robert, Jay, Lester and Billy Morgan, and sisters, Bess Johnson, Bertie Fry and Virginia Ray.


Survivors include her sister, Jewell Burnett of Fort Oglethorpe; children, Bobby Jack Rayburn, Frankie and Willis Sliger, all of Athens, Tn., Sonny & Darlette Rayburn, and Mary Grace Randolph, Cleveland, Tn., Jerry and Marilyn Rayburn, Immokalee, Fla., and Rev. David & Brenda Rayburn, LaFayette, Ga.; special nieces who she raised, Betty Stanfield and Linda Berryhill; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren are left to cherish her memory.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Paul McBryar officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. Shane Rayburn, Richard Randolph, Michael Randolph, Jr., Bobby Randolph II, Paul Sliger and Donnie Sliger will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, from 5–8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.

Mark “Mike” Manley Crandall, 75, of Soddy Daisy, died on May 21, 2012. Mike moved to Chattanooga in 1967. He worked for various fastener companies until he opened his own company in 1976, Bolts & Nuts, Inc. Mike retired in March of 2006. Teen Killed When Thrown From Hood Of Car At Old Kmart On Signal Mountain Road

A 17-year-old was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from the hood of a vehicle at the old Kmart on Signal Mountain Road.
