Just so we keep up with the real numbers of this economy instead of the false "Hope" economy that Obama keeps trying to sell us on. Today the numbers show that there are 13 million unemployed. There are 46 million Americans on food stamps.
Nancy Pelosi says this is best for us and helps the economy more than jobs. So others pay these people's benefits from their taxes so we have a great example of redistribution of wealth or socialism. Almost 30% of homeowners are under water and we are told we should pay for their mortgages. One main reason is because they do not have jobs or are not paid enough to make their mortgage. Gas prices are going over $5.00 and we have never had gas that high in America.
The main source that our paper uses for national news, the AP, is writing stories today that this is good news. When the press tells us this is good news then we know we are receiving false information and they hope to tell the lie so many times that we will believe it.
You can also tell how bad it is because everything we buy (food, clothes, insurance, health car, and so on) are rising in price. This means we are having more of incomes taken just to pay the basics. That is also why there are fewer jobs because employers also can not afford new employees or more services.
Our economy is not hopeful, it is depressing. This is all because of the policies of Obama. That is why we need change and not just in the presidency.

Thanks for setting the record straight Mr. McNaub. It's good to know that the President controls gas prices, homeowners buying houses they can't afford or bank's shady lending, inflation, etc. Too bad he doesn't take out that magic wand and fix everything. Forget the fact that the country was already heading for what is being dubbed "The Great Recession" before he took office, there was a global economic collapse, and Europe is in shambles. It must be that darn President holding us back completely on his own, and it has nothing to do with the obstructionist, party of 'no' in congress, which has sub 10 percent approval ratings by the way.
This is not to say that the President hasn't done some questionable things, but if you seriously think that by simply switching Presidents we'll magically be better off, you're crazy. Congress doesn't want to get anything done, there's Europe, Iran effecting gas prices, Democrats don't want to touch entitlement programs, and Republicans don't want to raise taxes that are at their lowest level since the 50's. But yeah, stick ole Mitt, Newt, or Rick in there and things will be rosy again.

John Bonner, when talking about the economy you made reference to the “ obstructionist, party of 'no' in congress”. The Democrats had control of the House and the Senate for Obama’s first two years of office and he got everything he wanted passed. Unfortunately he spent all that time ramming Obamacare down our throats instead of focusing on the economy like he should have been. Don’t forget, you Democrats still control the Senate and the Presidency right now and the Democrats have had most of all of the power in Washington since 2007 so how can you possibly blame a "do nothing Congress" that has only been in control of one branch of our government for one year?

Looks like Mr. Howard missed the point Mr. Bonner was making in his rush to defend "his" party. Mr. McNaub blamed President Obama exclusively for problems with the economy, while Mr. Bonner says it's not quite so simple, everyone has played a part, and sometimes there are even factors outside of the President's control. Now which one makes more sense?
This whole mentality of "your party" is one of the main problems in politics right now. Instead of fairly critiquing everyone, each side roots for "their party" like it's a team. It's ridiculous, and why the politicians from both sides don't want to get anything done, because God forbid they play nice with the other side.

Our country and economy is in sad shape, people are losing their homes, people are having a hard time feeding their families, jobs are almost gone and it seems to be heading downward still. When someone comments on the situtation the only thing most have to offer is to blame someone. The republicans blame the democrats and the democrats blame the republicans. If blaming someone will fix the problem you have MY permission to blame ME. I guess we will wake up tomorrow and all the problems will be gone. We will have great jobs, plenty of money and food for everyone. See how easy it is to fix.

Mr. McNaub, since when is gas at $5 per gallon? That sounds like teapub speak. I guess you guys love bad news on the economy.
Currently, I see $3.44 on the signs, and concede that we will see over $4 by summer, same as the Bush record in 2008. How about a bit of truth?
Mr. Bonner, you are correct. The Dems controlled the Senate (sort of) with 59 votes which is a huge majority. Of course, you fail to mention that the teapubs, with the urging of their leader, managed to filibuster on more than 60 occasions, requiring 60 votes. Count our lemmings Corker and Alexander among the GNOPers.

Everything bad that happens is Obama's fault. I just wish the dang Liberals would get off the case of the GOP. They will get around to figuring out a way to create jobs and save the vanishing middle class as soon as they solve the much more pressing problem of banning female contraceptive use and stopping gay marriage.
Don't you tree-hugging liberal left-wing wackos understand it's more important to tell women what to do with their bodies and stop gays and lesbians from ruining our marriages? Gosh, I thought everybody knew that.
