During the week of Feb. 17-23, officers and detectives answered 1,728 calls, according to Sheriff Phil Summers of the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office. 82 were booked on a total of 169 counts. The violations included both misdemeanor and felony charges and were as follows:

Sheriff Summers reported that in addition to answering 1,728 calls, the following felony arrests were made: 

Britteny Royale Berkhall, age 28, of 1318 Winston Drive Dalton, GA was arrested February 17, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Berkhall remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

John Edward Jackson, age 36, of 201 Bryant Street Dalton, GA was arrested February 17, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Jackson remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Cheryl Lynn Richardson, age 28, of 156 Oak Street Rossville, GA was arrested February 17, 2012 for False Report of a Crime and Insurance Fraud. Richardson was released on $7,500 bond. 

Gregory Ruel Hopkins Jr., age 24, of 677 Stapp Drive Ringgold, GA was arrested February 18, 2012 for Possession of Schedule III Drugs, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs and Weaving. Hopkins was released on $8,500 bond. 

Lance Anthony Lavignett, age 31, of 32 Holmes Road Ringgold, GA was arrested February 18, 2012 for Theft by Taking, Entering an Automobile, Financial Transaction Card Theft, Financial Transaction Card Fraud and a Bench Warrant for Criminal Trespass. No bond has been set. Lavignett remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Angela Renee Beard, age 39, of 2010 5th Avenue Chattanooga, TN was arrested February 19, 2012 for Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into State. Beard was released on $5,000 bond. 

Shane Steven Bennett, age 31, of 83 Stephanie Drive Ringgold, GA was arrested February 19, 2012 for Terroristic Threats and Acts, Battery (FVA), two counts of Obstruction or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers, Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Marijuana Less Than 1 oz, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, Driving on Revoked or Suspended License, Reckless Driving, six counts of Obedience to Traffic Control Devices, two counts of Speeding, Bond Surrender for Speeding, Bond Surrender for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Bond Surrender for Driving on Revoked to Suspended License, Bond Surrender for Simple Battery, Bond Surrender for Reckless Driving, Bond Surrender for Operation of a Vehicle without Valid Tag and a Bond Surrender for Obedience to Traffic Control Device. Bond has been set at $50,100. Bennett remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Dakota Ray Hurst, age 21, of 15 Windy Arc Drive Trenton, GA was arrested February 19, 2012 for Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into State. Hurst was released on $5,000 bond. 

Michael Alan-Andrew Parker, age 20, of 2910 5th Avenue Chattanooga, TN was arrested February 19, 2012 Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into State. Parker was released on $5,000 bond. 

Michael Shane Reese, age 40 of 2910 5th Avenue Chattanooga, TN was arrested February 19, 2012 for Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into State, Habitual Vilator, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Too Fast for Conditions, Reckless Driving and Passing in a No-Passing Zone. Reese was released on $14,500 bond. 

Jeremy Daniel Holland, age 35, of 606 Oglethorpe Ridge Lane Ft. Oglethorpe, GA was arrested February 20, 2012 for Entering an Automobile and Criminal Attempt – Entering an Automobile. Holland was released on $10,000 bond. 

Amos McGienley Piper III, age 27, of 130 Tammy Lane Benton, TN was arrested February 20, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Piper remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Christopher Justin Ray, age 31, of 1234 Dedmon Road Ringgold, GA was arrested February 20, 2012 for two counts of Obstruction or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers, Escape, Theft by Taking and a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Ray remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Gabriela Jonnetta Reyna, age 36, of 63 Lucy Drive Ringgold, GA was arrested February 20, 2012 for Cruelty to Children 1st Degree and Party to a Crime of Aggravated Stalking. Reyna was released on $10,000 bond. 

Jeremy Dale Williams, age 25, of 434 Glade Road Rossville, GA was arrested February 20, 2012 for Possession of Schedule II Drugs and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime. Williams was released on $8,000 bond. 

Timothy John Wilson Jr., age 38, of 269 Appaloosa Trail Tunnel Hill, GA was arrested February 20, 2012 for Theft by Taking and Contempt of Court – Child Support. No bond has been set. Wilson remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Joseph Franklin Gentry, age 49, of 110 Baylor Lane Rossville, GA who was already in custody was charged February 21, 2012 for four counts of Obstruction or Hindering Law Enforcement Officer and Battery. Bond has been set at $25,000. Gentry remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Ryan Benjamin Goldberg, age 34, of 880 Neal Drive Rossville, GA was arrested February 21, 2012 for Entering an Automobile. Bond has been set at $5,000. Goldberg remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Austin Wade Schmucker, age 18, of 14 Peachtree Lane Rossville, GA who was already in custody was charged February 21, 2012 for Riot in a Penal Institution. Bond has been set at $5,000. Schmucker remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Christopher Toby Shaw, age 55, of 3625 Ringgold Road East Ridge, TN was arrested February 21, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Shaw remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Gary Lynn Goins, age 38, of 215 Hammond Drive Plainville, GA was arrested February 22, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Goins remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Adam Harold Gage, age 46, of 863 Grove Circle Cleveland, TN was arrested February 23, 2012 for a Probation Violation. Gage was released on $1,000 bond. 

Daniel Eric Garner, age 26, of 7444 Gates Road Lot B Hixson, TN was arrested February 23, 2012 for a Probation Violation. No bond has been set. Garner remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Timothy Joseph Litchford, age 43, of 585 Red Bud Avenue Rossville, GA was arrested February 23, 2012 for a Parole Violation. No bond has been set. Litchford remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

Jason Ott Mincey, age 29, of 3203 Orchard Knobb Chattanooga, TN who was already in custody was charged February 23, 2012 for Interference with Government Property. No bond has been set. Mincey remains incarcerated at CCDC. 

David Reyna, age 39, of 63 Lucy Drive Ringgold, GA was arrested February 23, 2012 for Aggravated Stalking. No bond has been set. Reyna remains incarcerated at CCDC.


Car Shears Off Bottom Of Power Pole; Vehicle Lands On Top

A car went out of control on Highway 27 Tuesday night and wound up shearing off the bottom of a power pole. The vehicle wound up on its top in the incident about 6 p.m. The male driver was going north and was the only occupant of the car. He was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Hospital by Hamilton County EMS. The Soddy Daisy Police Department is investigating. (click for more)

Funding Approved To Replace Faded Wayfinding Signs

The City Council has approved $45,000 to go toward replacing local tourism wayfinding signs that faded within a year after they were put up. Kim White, who heads the River City Company, said it will raise $66,628 to complete the needed funds for the new signage.
