3 People Interested In District 2 County School Board Race

Three people have picked up papers for the District 2 County School Board race, including incumbent Chip Baker.

Jean Trohanis has qualified to run, and Jonathan Welch of Shackleford Ridge Road picked up papers.

Incumbent Linda Mosley of District 7 has picked up papers as has incumbent George Ricks in District 4.

Ralph Miller picked up papers for the District 7 race.

Darrell Sivley is the latest to pick up papers to run for mayor of Chattanooga in a special August election.

Others picking up include Jim Folkner, Landon Howard and Joyce Terrell. 

Guy Satterfield has qualified to run.

 


Car Shears Off Bottom Of Power Pole; Vehicle Lands On Top

A car went out of control on Highway 27 Tuesday night and wound up shearing off the bottom of a power pole. The vehicle wound up on its top in the incident about 6 p.m. The male driver was going north and was the only occupant of the car. He was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Hospital by Hamilton County EMS. The Soddy Daisy Police Department is investigating. (click for more)

Funding Approved To Replace Faded Wayfinding Signs

The City Council has approved $45,000 to go toward replacing local tourism wayfinding signs that faded within a year after they were put up. Kim White, who heads the River City Company, said it will raise $66,628 to complete the needed funds for the new signage.
