Wamp Says 65.6% Of Fleischmann Contributions From PACs And Those Outside District 3

Friday, February 03, 2012

Challenger Weston Wamp said Third District Congressman Chuck Fleischmann "has raised an astonishing 65.6 percent of his money for the 2012 election cycle from the combination of Washington special interest Political Action Committees (PACs) and individual contributions from people outside Tennessee’s 3rd District, a review of Federal Election Commissions reports shows."

“The congressman and his chief of staff/campaign manager can spin it any way they want, but the people of the 3rd District can see for themselves that their congressman is the poster child for why Washington is broken,” said Bonnie Brezina, Wamp campaign manager.

“The congressman has raised more money from Washington special interests than he has from the 3rd District.”

She said the reports "show that Rep. Fleischmann received 190 contributions from more than 100 Washington special interest groups totaling $306,625, or 39.7 percent of the total money raised during the current election cycle. Rep. Fleischmann also raised $199,725 from 149 individual contributors who do not live in the 3rd District. Combined, the $506,350 represents 65.6 percent of the total money raised by the campaign."

She said Mr.  Wamp "collected no special interest money in his first quarter of fundraising – the fourth quarter of 2011 -- and only 13.7 percent of his money came from individuals outside the 3rd District. In the fourth quarter of 2011, Rep. Fleischmann raised 65.4 percent of his total from Washington special interests or individual contributions from out of the 3rd District. Only $110,880 of Rep. Fleischmann’s $321,230 in the fourth quarter came from the 3rd District."

The Walking Horse Industry Is Laughable - And Response

Roy Exum has said it all- "The industry is laughable."  The Humane Society's Keith Dane said last week, "The penalties are not sufficient ... jail time is the only sufficient penalty." Absolutely.  It is time for the Walking Horse industry to be treated in the same way that cock fighting and dog fighting are treated by the law.  Remember Michael Vick?  ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: The Horse Industry Is Livid

I am convinced that when Jackie "The Jerk" McConnell appears in U.S. District Court today in Chattanooga, he will do so as perhaps the most despised man in the history of the state of Tennessee. A heart-wrenching video of the despicable McConnell cruelly beating a horse in its face with an electric cattle prod has been shown repeatedly since Wednesday night and has appeared in countless ...
