Patrick Mayo, 68, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, February 3, 2012 in a local hospital.  

Mr. Mayo was born in Chattanooga to Mary Park and George Arnold Mayo. 

He was a former supervisor at Carter Distributing for 20 years. He and his wife opened their own business, Mayo’s, on Brainerd Road in 1987. It has been a well-known neighborhood restaurant and lounge for 25 years. 

Pat was a former vice president of the Greater Chattanooga Darting Association and has been instrumental in annual events raising money for the Special Olympics for more than 30 years. 

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in 1961, attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a member of OLPH Catholic Church.     

He was preceded in death by his parents.    

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sara McNair Mayo. Pat is the father of Rick Mayo and Dawn Mayo, grandfather to Amber (James) Hunter, Zackary Mayo, Jacob Tobler and Sara Grace Mayo, brother to George Arnold Mayo, Tim (Patsy) Mayo, Melanie (Ted) Autry and Michael Mayo.  

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, at the funeral home.  

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 6, at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mallet officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, East Ridge.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics or American Cancer Society.  

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
