Miller Charged With Robbery Of Young Republican Leader; Also Tied To Carjacking Case

Arrest Made After Cellphone Is Tracked To Brainerd Residence

Saturday, February 04, 2012

Police have charged Jeremiah Jaques "Jay Jay" Miller with the Jan. 18 robbery of Tiffany Hargis in her driveway at Summertown Court off of Gunbarrel Road.

Ms. Hargis said she had just gotten out of her vehicle at her home when she was approached by a black male. He yelled, "Hey" and then pointed a silver-colored revolver at her and told her to get on the ground.

Once she was on the ground, the robber took her purse and tried to get in her car, "but due to the victim's screaming he fled the scene on foot.

"

The next day, police were involved in the pursuit of a silver Ford Explorer, which had been taken during a carjacking on Jan. 13. Those in the Explorer got away. In the vehicle, police found items taken from Ms. Hargis, including her photo ID.

That same day, Ms. Hargis notified police that her cellphone was enabled with GPS and it was tracked to 229 S. Howell St. in Brainerd. At that residence, Fred Williams said Miller brought the phone to him, saying he was locked out of it because he had forgotten the password.

Police interviewed Diantree Williams, son of Fred Williams. During a search of his phone, it was found that "Jay Jay" had texted him saying he had been involved in a high-speed chase with police while in a Ford Explorer. He picked out Miller in a lineup of those possibly involved in the carjacking. The woman whose car was taken also identified Miller as one of the carjackers.

Ms. Hargis is a former co-chairman of the Hamilton County Young Republicans. Her husband, Kevin Hargis, is a former board member.

Miller, 18, of 1416 Manna Lane, was charged with aggravated robbery.

The Walking Horse Industry Is Laughable - And Response

Roy Exum has said it all- "The industry is laughable."  The Humane Society's Keith Dane said last week, "The penalties are not sufficient ... jail time is the only sufficient penalty." Absolutely.  It is time for the Walking Horse industry to be treated in the same way that cock fighting and dog fighting are treated by the law.  Remember Michael Vick?  ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: The Horse Industry Is Livid

I am convinced that when Jackie "The Jerk" McConnell appears in U.S. District Court today in Chattanooga, he will do so as perhaps the most despised man in the history of the state of Tennessee. A heart-wrenching video of the despicable McConnell cruelly beating a horse in its face with an electric cattle prod has been shown repeatedly since Wednesday night and has appeared in countless ...
