Rep. JoAnne Favors has picked up papers for House District 28, setting up a possible race between herself and veteran legislator Tommie Brown, the District 28 incumbent.
Rep. Favors now represents District 29, but Republicans put her in the Brown district during recent redistricting.
The new District 29 runs up through the rapidly growing northeast portion of the county. Mike Carter, former General Sessions Court judge and county mayor contender, has picked up to run for that seat.
Gerald McCormick, the House majority leader, picked up for House District 26.
Mike Malone is the latest to pick up papers to run in a special election for mayor of Chattanooga in August.
