Nationally-recognized social media expert, Casey Knox, was featured as a keynote speaker at a statewide conference held at UTC. Ms. Knox, director of Social Media and PR for AREA203 Digital, spoke to the Tennessee Intramural-Recreational Sports Association at their annual conference on January 27. Ms. Knox, an industry expert and UTC alum, explained to the audience how to craft a basic social media strategy.

"While social media is becoming a marketing phenomenon, many do not understand its application in their particular industry,” said Ms.

Knox. “Social media is so important because it’s a brand’s voice – one of its most prized possessions. The seminar basically helped get everyone acquainted with the basics.”

Ms. Knox spoke to TIRSA attendees about the basics of social media strategies and how to manage their brand voice on a day-to-day basis. TIRSA attendees were representatives from colleges and universities across the state. The conference was held at UTC on January 26-27.
